5 Tips for Adding Magnesium Oil to your Routine

Updated: Aug 2, 2019

The key to rendering optimum benefits from magnesium oil is to use it consistently.

Using our magnesium oil on a regular basis builds up your body’s magnesium levels over time to help support the multitude of biochemical functions that magnesium has a role in.

We’re talking: reduced headaches, increased energy, and more restful sleep.

But, we get it.

Asking you to incorporate another thing into your daily routine, might make it seem like a chore. So, we’ve compiled five super convenient ways to add magnesium oil to your schedule, without having to make much additional time at all.

1. Take advantage of your commute.

Our bottles are quite portable (and if you really want discretion, check out our travel size), before you leave the house, slip one in your purse, briefcase or lunchbox. One option is to give yourself a few sprays as soon as you get in your car (or the subway, or train, etc.) at the end of the day. This will help you leave work at the office, and start feeling more relaxed as your make your way home. An alternate strategy is to use magnesium oil as your traffic-jam-ally. We’ve all be there. You’re driving along…looking forward to relaxing at home…when you hit traffic. Even worse, there’s no end in sight. Rather than losing your cool, use this as an opportunity to take a moment for your health. A note on safety: if you’re truly in stand-still traffic, make sure your car is in park before you start spritzing your magnesium. Then, take a deep breath and apply to your arms, maybe the back of your neck. Massage it in. Take another deep breath. Before you know it, you’ll be able to cope with the wrench in your commute easier, and will arrive home in a much better mood.

2. Help your moisturizer do double duty.

After your shower is a great time to moisturize, either with coconut oil or your favorite lotion. Accomplish more than just hydrating your skin by adding magnesium oil to the mix. Once you have your cream or oil of choice in your hand, add a few sprays of magnesium oil to mix the two together. Then, simply apply to your skin as you would a normal moisturizer (avoiding eyes and sensitive areas). Mixing magnesium with your post-shower lotion application also helps to reduce the itching/tingling that is sometimes experienced by new magnesium users. This can be a perfect option to get more bang for your buck by bulking up the benefits of an existing component of your routine.

3. Put it by your toothbrush.

You’re in the habit of starting and ending your day with a good brush of your pearly whites right? If you put your bottle of magnesium oil by your toothbrush, you won’t forget about it! You can even split up your application, maybe 5 sprays in the morning and 5 at night. Soon, you’ll be in a positive habit of leaving the bathroom twice a day with fresh breath and a magnesium boost!

4. Multitask with a soak.

Hopefully you have time in the evenings to sit on the couch and unwind. Maybe you look forward to spending a peaceful half-hour, or even hour, with your favorite show. This is another opportunity to get your daily dose of magnesium without having to change your routine. You can add an ounce or two of our magnesium oil or a scoop of our magnesium bath flakes to a foot spa tub, or even another vessel large enough to fill with warm water (and a tired pair of feet!) That way, you can take your evening unwind in front of Netflix to the next level, and do something great for your health at the same time!

5. Give yourself a foot rub before bed.

Sometimes, incorporating a new habit can be too much to try and accomplish amidst an already busy morning. That’s why one of our favorite ways to make sure that we consistently get our daily dose of magnesium is to use it in the evenings. As you’re winding down for bed, apply magnesium oil to your feet, both the tops and the soles. Give them a bit a rub to help it soak in (and also because foot rubs feel awesome after a long day.) This tip is particularly beneficial if you’d like to use magnesium to help promote more restful sleep. You’ll be counting sheep in no time!

A quick note: you shouldn’t incorporate all of these strategies every day. Each spray of Magnum Solace magnesium oil contains 18mg of elemental magnesium. If you’re new to magnesium oil, you want to use between 5-10 sprays of magnesium oil daily. Once you use magnesium oil consistently for a couple of weeks, you can work your way up to 10-15 sprays per day.

We hope this helps you make the most of every opportunity to boost your health. Once you start paying attention to how you can safely multitask and reap awesome benefits as a result, we think you’ll be hooked!

Be sure to let us know if you have other ways you use magnesium oil, we’d love to hear them. And of course, if we think other people could benefit from your tip, we’ll pass it along!
